 Fred Weiner

Fred Weiner was born in Sparta, WI and raised in Tomah, WI.  He had a natural artistic talent and spent many hours drawing as a youth. He graduated from Tomah High School in 1966.  While serving his country in the U.S. Air Force he received his training in commercial art from Art Instruction School of Minneapolis.

After leaving military service, he started his own business, SignCo, where he painted signs for businesses, interstate advertisements, illustrations, murals, and for the community theater.  Fred spent his working career at Fort McCoy, WI in the Engineering field.  While there, he did many facility designs and specialized artwork to include the stone monuments for the main gate, caricature drawings for retirements, and for special events.

In retirement, Fred has gone back to sketch art on a full time basis. His focus is to study history and recreate the life of earlier days. He has brought to life the early logging camps, steam railroads, civil war times, early cranberry days, as well as nature, wildlife, and portraits.

Fred lives in Warrens, WI with his wife, Susan, and has three children.
