Experience:

Ginny has been painting in oils for about twelve years and watercolors for seven years.  She has received several first place awards at the Walworth County, Jackson County, and Clark County fairs the past seven years as well as honorable mention awards and three state awards at Wisconsin Regional Art Program competitions. She has several works in private collections in the Sharon, WI, and Black River Falls areas and at the Golden Dreams Gallery, Neillsville, Wisconsin.

Organizations:

Ginny is a member of the Black River Art Group, the Black River Arts Alliance and Wisconsin Regional Artists Association having served a three year term as Publicity Chair and most recently joined the Tomah Art Guild serving as vice president. She was instrumental in bringing the first WRAP Exhibit to Black River Falls and also serves as coordinator for the exhibit.

Education:

Mostly self-taught, she has taken painting lessons in oils from Mary Ann McDonald of Black River Falls, a watercolor class from Nancy Newcomb in Lake Geneva, WI and enrolled in art classes at Black Hawk Technical School with Carla Day-Johnson, Janesville, WI, as well as a North Light Correspondence Drawing Class. She also attended four week long seminars in watercolor under the tutelage of Pat Dobrinska at Green Lake, Wisconsin, and received a scholarship to the Rhinelander School of the Arts. She has a BA in Education with a Fine Arts Minor from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.

Philosophy: 

With her florals and landscapes, Ginny is attempting  to draw the viewer into a place of respite away from the hectic pace of daily life. Through her art, she hopes to connect the viewer to the affinity she has for the miracle of the beauty of our natural world.

Interests:

Dog agility training and competitions, bowling, knitting, 4-wheeling, reading and sewing are included in her other passions. A retired teacher, Ginny currently resides at  W12658 Charcoal Road, Hixton, WI, with her wonderful husband, Willard, and three miniature poodles Andre', Tucker, and Chancy.
